Keyboard Shortcuts

A summary of commonly used Onshape keyboard shortcuts. Mastering these will significantly speed up your modeling workflow.

View Controls

Shortcut Function Description
F Fit to window Makes the model fill the entire viewport
N View Normal Switch to a straight-on view of the selected face
K Show/hide mate connectors Toggle the visibility of mate connector points

Sketch Tools

Shortcut Function Description
L Line Line tool — draw straight line segments
C Circle Center Point Circle — draw a circle from its center
G Corner Rectangle Draw a rectangle by specifying two diagonal corners
D Dimension Add length, angle, or radius dimensions to sketch entities
U Use tool Project existing geometry edges onto the current sketch
Q Construction Toggle a line to construction mode (won't generate solid geometry)
T Tangent constraint Make two curves share the same direction at their connection point
V Vertical constraint Force a line to stay vertical

Edit Operations

Shortcut Function Description
Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z Undo Revert the last operation
Ctrl+C Copy Copy the selected element
Ctrl+V Paste Paste the copied element
Shift+F Fillet Round off sharp edges
Shift Lock inference Lock the inferred mate connector direction
Esc Cancel current tool Exit the active tool
Delete Delete selected Remove the currently selected element

Mouse and Trackpad Controls

Action Function Description
Right-click drag Rotate model Hold right mouse button and drag to rotate the view
Middle-click drag / Ctrl+right-click drag Pan Hold middle button or Ctrl+right-click and drag to pan the view
Scroll wheel Zoom Scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in or out
Two-finger drag (trackpad) Rotate Drag with two fingers on the trackpad to rotate the model
Shift+two-finger drag Pan Hold Shift and drag with two fingers to pan
Pinch (trackpad) Zoom Pinch with two fingers on the trackpad to zoom
